  I hate Dell tech support, but I'm still going to stick with them. The machines are quality and I just don't see... Apple. Building your own is great if it's a desktop (don't know anyone that's built a laptop) and you have the time....

  Right, I understand now. It's because for passwords the admin doesn't need to know the password and therefore one way... one way encryption is perfect, but for things where you need to retrieve the data, it has to be a two way encryption....

  The built in Windows firewall is pretty decent as well. I can't speak for Vista, I hear that's very powerful but VERY... for incoming. It's the outgoing that is more of a concern but that's more of a luxury than a necessity at least for me....

  I think it's way more powerful than most people think it is. The technology has evolved and remember that now you can... over the net which is a very useful feature. They can also be set up wirelessly to make it even more convenient....

  I think their day has come and gone. They are probably doing some corporate solutions, but for personal use I would go... some corporate solutions, but for personal use I would go for avast home or AVG which are both excellent free options....

  I agree that this sounds a bit far-fetched. I can see applications like gmail scanning your emails quickly and parsing... they have reason to suspect you they can and very likely will tap your calls, but not everybody's calls at all times....

  Unless you're physically searching every employee, it's very difficult to prevent that level of theft. You have to hire... in trouble. This can be overcome with some good encryption which is often supported by the thumb drives themselves....

  You always wonder if anybody ever actually bites at those spam emails they send out. Most are poorly written with typos... even if only a tiny fraction of the recipients were going for it, it was still enough to make them extremely wealthy....
